Q

Specificity

A

Matching training to the requirements of an activity

Specificity in football may mean concentrating on CV fitness (HRCoF) or speed (SRCoF). CV fitness would allow players to play the entire game and speed would allow them to cover ground quicker

A

It means working at a higher range of intensity than the minimum threshold of training but, staying below the maximum threshold of training

Q

Individual Needs

A

When planning a PEP the needs of the athlete must come first, using another persons programme would not work as they will have different starting points and needs

Q

F.I.T.T

A
Frequency (how often)
Intensity (how hard)
Time (how long)
Type (method)
The FITT principle works with the principle of progressive overload because, as you get fitter, you can more often, at a higher intensity and for longer at a given activity.
