Where do Arteries take blood?
Away from the heart
Describe the Structure of an Artery
Thickest walls and more elastic. Small lumen.
What type of blood do they carry? Are there any exceptions?
Oxygenated blood. Apart from the pulmonary artery which carries de oxygenated blood.
What is Vascular Shunting?
The process that increases blood flow to active areas during exercise by diverting blood away from inactive areas; achieved by vasodilation and vasoconstriction
What is the immune system?
the structures and processes in your body that stop disease.
What is thrombokinase
Substance involved in blood clotting.
What is Serotonin?
Hormone that triggers the clotting process.
What is Leukocyte?
White blood cell
