Soc 5 Flashcards
What are the principles of training
Specificity, progressive overload, individual needs, FITT(frequency, intesity, time type)
What is specificity
Matching the training to the requirements of an activity. For example a goalkeeper has different needs to an outfield player.
What is individual needs
Matching training to the requirements of an individual
What is proggresive overload
Proggresively upping the intesity of your training
What does FITT mean
The fitt principle works with the principle or proggresive overloard because, as you get fitter, you can more often at a higher intesity and for longer at a given activity
What does frequency mean
Frequency means how often you train. Frequency can be adjusted to help you manage proggresive overload. For example, you may go from running three times a week to four times a week
What does intensity mean
How intense your training is
