Deltoid
Raise the arms in all directions at the shoulder
Biceps
Flex the arm at the shoulder
Pectorialis major
Adduct the arm at the shoulder
External obliques
Pull the chest downwards. Flex and rotate the spinal column
Hip flexors
Flex the hip, help the leg and knee up towards the body
Quadriceps
Extend the leg at the knee
Tibialis anterior
Pull the toes up toward the shin (dorsi-flexion)
Prostrate muscles
Muscles from the back
Latissumus dorsi
Pull your arms down from the shoulders and behind your back (adduct and extend)
Triceps
Extend the arm at the elbow
Gluteals
Adduct and extend the leg at the hip, pull the leg backwards
Hamstrings
Flex the legs at the knees
Gastrocnemius
Point the toes ( plantar-flextion) at the ankle.
Slow twitch
Suited for endurance activities, these are type l muscle fibres.
Fast twitch
Suited to work anerbically, type ll
