daytime sleepiness, poor daytime concentration, heavy snoring, recurrent episodes of upper airway obstruction leading to apnoea during sleep, unrefreshing sleep
Conditions associated with sleep apnoea
Congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and Parkinson’s disease, Polycystic ovary syndrome, hormonal disorders, prior stroke and chronic lung diseases such as asthma
Management options
diagnosed by Hepworth questionnaire, overnight sleep study and history and exam.
