What is plagiocephaly and how do you treat it?
A
- Parallelogram shaped head - occipital flattening.
- Increased due to back to sleep campaign.

Treatment
- The vast majority improve by 3-5 years of age (upright posture)
- Helmets are not usually needed - RCTs show no significant outcome difference.
- Baby time on tummy.
- Turning cot & toys around.
- Supervised supported sitting during the day.

Q
What is Craniosynostosis?
A
Premature fusion of the skull bones.
Can cause rasied ICP so look for papilloedema.
CT is gold standard for diagnosing carniosyntosis BUT refer to paeds if suspected.
