A

Limited Localised Disease
- First line - Topical fusidic acid
- Second line - Topical Retapamulin
- MRSA suspected - Topical mupirocin (Bactroban).

Extensive disease
- Oral flucloxacillin
- Erythromycin if Pen Allergic.

What can the question commonly have with regards to impetigo?
A
Patient has come out of hospital (MRSA) - topical mupirocin
Bugs - Staph Aureus AND Strep pyogenes
Fusidic acid fails - What next? Retapamulin.
What if Penicillin Allergic? Erythromycin.
