  • Limited Localised Disease
    • First line - Topical fusidic acid
    • Second line - Topical Retapamulin
    • MRSA suspected - Topical mupirocin (Bactroban).
  • Extensive disease
    • Oral flucloxacillin
    • Erythromycin if Pen Allergic.

A

Patient has come out of hospital (MRSA) - topical mupirocin

Bugs - Staph Aureus AND Strep pyogenes

Fusidic acid fails - What next? Retapamulin.

What if Penicillin Allergic? Erythromycin.
