F: Up: elevation, up rotation
Middle: retraction
Lwr: depression, up rotation
Levator Scapulae
O: Post tubercles of transverse processes of C1-C4
I: Superior angle and sup portion of med border of scapula
N: Dorsal scapular (C5), and cervical (C4,5)
F: Elevates scapula, some downward rotation
Rhomboid Minor
O: Inferior ligamentum nuchae, spinous processes C7-T1
I: Med border of scapula at the base of the spine
N: Dorsal scapular (C4, 5)
F: Retraction, downward rotation, elevation
Rhomboid Major
O: Spinous processes of T2-T5
I: Med border of the scapula, inferior to rhomboid minor insertion
N: Dorsal scapular (C4, 5)
F: Retraction, downward rotation, elevation
Serratus Anterior
O: External surface of lateral ribs 1-8
I: Anterior surface of medial border of the scapula (inf 5/8ths)
N: Long thoracic nerve (C5-7)
F: Protraction, upward rotation, and stabilization
Pectoralis Minor
O: Superior margin, external surfaces of ribs 3-5
I: Medial border and superior surface of coracoid process
N: Medial pectoral (C8, T1)
F: Protraction, downward rotation, depression
Subclavius
O: Junction of the first rib and costal cartilage
I: Inferior surface of middle third of clavicle
N: Nerve branch from brachial plexus (C5-6)
F: Anchors and depresses the clavicle
Supraspinatus
O: Supraspinous fossa of scapula
I: Superior aspect of greater tubercle of the humerus
N: Suprascapular (C4-6)
F: Abduction of the arm
Infraspinatus
O: Infraspinous fossa of the scapula
I: Middle aspect on greater tubercle of the humerus (>post)
N: Suprascapular (C4-6)
F: Laterally rotates arm
Teres Minor
O: Superior 2/3rds of dorsal surface of lateral border of the scapula
I: Inferior aspect of the greater tubercle (>post)
N: Axillary (C5-6)
F: Laterally rotates arm
Subscapularis (Shoulder joint muscles)

Latissimus Dorsi
O: Spinous processes of T7-T12, thoracolumbar fascia, iliac crest and inf 3-4 ribs
I: Medial lip and floor of the bicipital groove
N: Thoracodorsal (C6-8)
F: Extension, adduction, medial rotation, horizontal abduction
