6 Determinants of Gait Flashcards
1
Q
6 determinants of gait
A
- Pelvic Rotation
- Pelvic Tilt
- Lateral Pelvic Motion
- Knee Flexion (Heel strike to midstance)
- Knee/Foot and ankle motion
2
Q
Pelvic Rotation
A
4-5 degrees about the vertical axis results in
Increased stride length
Decrease lower limit of C0G displacement which occurs during double support
3
Q
Pelvic Tilt
A
5 degrees about the frontal axis (hip adduction)
decreases upper limit of CoG displacement which occurs during mid-stance
4
Q
Lateral Pelvic Motion
A
1 inch lateral displacement
All that is required to maintain CoG over the stance limb
5
Q
Knee Flexion (Heel strike to midstance)
A
15-20 degrees by foot flat which aids in shock absorption and decreases upper limit CoG displacement
6
Q
Knee/Foot and ankle motion
A
Act to attenuate displacement of CoG throughout the gait cycle
