6) advise with any distress signal sighted
Sector Search Width
Minimum should be distance aircraft can cover in one minute at search speed or twice the sweep width, whichever is larger. (Minimum 3NM at 180 kts)

1) Uncertainty: Knowledge of a situation that may need to be monitored or have more information gathered but does not require moving resources.
2) Alert: Craft or person experiencing some difficulty and may need assistance, but is not in immediate danger or immediate need of response.
3) Distress: when grave or imminent danger requiring immediate response. Immediate response shall be initiated
