Procedure for samuel and bryant?

A

Mass: play dough balls next to each other and transformation is to roll one into a cylinder.
Number: two rows of equal amount of counters, transformation is for one to be spread out.
Volume: two equal volume beakers and transformation is for one to be put into a different sized beaker.
One judgement: see transformation but only asked post transformation question.
Standard: piagets study, both questions asked.
Fixed array: dont see transformation and just asked post transformation question.

A

Conservation does come with age but asking the same question twice led them to give the wrong answer. Struggled most on the volume task also made most errors in the fixed array comdition as they didnt see the transformation.
Standard condition: 5yrs 3mnths: 8.3 mean mistakes
8yrs 3mnths: 1.7 mean mistakes
