• It began from his Ashram(retreat), near Ahmedabad, to the seaside village of Dandi.
• It was a 24 day March, and led to the British forbidding the making of salt, except under Govt. license.
• It was also an attack on the unfair laws, and an opportunity to oppose the British in any was possible.
• They also boycotted British schools & services.
• Many Congress leaders were arrested
• It was a triumph
• Muslims didn’t take part, as Jinnah felt that they also sought dominance over Muslims.
