Why was there a need for a change in time designations?
There came a brewing sentimentality when Christians looked at writings and read texts mentioning the reign of harsh emperors when referencing time periods. As a result, this brought up unpleasant memories for Christians, so the Church commissioned a man to create new Christian time designations.
