• March 1793: a revolutionary tribunal was established to try counter-revolutionaries
• 19 March 1793: a new law decreed that rebels bearing arms could be execute without appeal
• March 1793: watch committees were in every commune to look out for suspicious behaviour
• April 1793: CPS responsible for the conduct of wars, diplomacy, supplies authority over CGS. reported to NC
