Q

how are the parlements viewed?

A

the Parlements which had been hailed as the champions of the ordinary people became defenders of tradition and new leaders emerged to fight for the rights of the people in any discussions on the future governance of France. These leaders did not originally come from the 3rd estate itself but from among the enlightened nobles who chose to champion their cause
