Outline the contents of the respond by air SOP
A
Equipment checks:
- Do the checks, immediate deployment if not finished
Aviation briefing:
- Aviation briefing, helmets, NVIS
Activation:
- Activated by red phone, on speaker phone. Might be redirected in flight
Navigation:
- Pilots do nav and give ETA
- Clinical crew eyes out, no phones
Comms:
- Minimise
- Convey lift time, ETA, overhead and landed to desk
- Pre-alert and ETA to hospital
NVIS see extra
Stand downs:
- Refuel at base or approved aviation site
- Return to base with ETA to desk
- Replenish kit
Observers:
- Appropriate PPE and helmets
- Adhere to authorised observers SOP

- Use driving isochromes to help decision-making
- ACANS and google earth to determine primary and secondary landing site
- Pass landing sites to desk
- NVIS brief as per checklist
- Have to land and re-plan if re-tasked
