Describe the daily CD check

A
  • All CD pouches, cabinet and out-of-date cabinet
  • Entry in all the books - daily check - signed by both clinicians
  • Follow reporting CD incidents SOP if discrepancy is found

Describe the process of receiving CDs into stock

A
  • Check the contents against the supply invoice - notify courier and sending pharmacy and don’t accept order
  • If collected from pharmacy, check with pharmacy staff
  • Put new drugs in the live stock CD cabinet
  • Document receipt of new stock in appropriate ledger
