Describe the process of disposal of part-used ampoules/syringes of controlled drug

Answer 1

1. Empty into DOOP jar
2. Fill with water
3. Seal
4. Store in out of date cupboard for 24hr on base
5. Into clinical waste bin
6. Record amount administered and wasted

Question 2

Describe the management of out of date controlled drugs

Answer 2

Store in out of date CD cabinet
Included in daily check
Log onto website so authorised witness can come to the base

Dispose in presence of CDAO using denaturing kit and kept for 24hrs then into clinical waste
