What is a gamete?
A gamete is a sex cell involves in reproduction. Gametes are haploid meaning they only contain half of the genetic information in diploid cells

Sperm, produced in the testes

Has a long tail in order to fertilise the egg

Eggs, produced in the ovaries

Pollen, produced in the anthers

What is fertilisation?
Fertilisation is the process by which the nuclei of 2 haploid gametes fuse together to form a diploid zygote, which divides to form an embryo
