How would you manage a patient with geographic tongue?
A
- Avoid acidic and spicy food.
- Advise Benzydamine HCL (difflam) oral rinse prescription.

Would you refer a patient for geographic tongue?
A
No - unless unsure or the tongue is persistently sore which then the pt would be tested for other conditions (e.g: anaemia).

Symptoms of Geographic Tongue
A
- Areas of erythema surrounded by a raised, white border.
- Exacerbated by red patches on the tongue.
- Potential family history.
- Lesions come and go.
- No lymphadenopathy.
