Do not case formulate on the based of an unknown event, treat the presenting problems

Use procedures that enhance reliablity like cognitive interview avoid leading questions, hypnosis, guided imagery and dream interpretation
What should you do when working with a client who discuses retrieving an unreported memory
ensure accurate records, discuss with clients using a videotape or audio but inform client that these taped record may be used in court
