-lasts approx 28 days
-need to determine what is normal bleeding for them, take history
-take seriously if they suggest their symptoms are abnormal

Bleeding not from normal menstruation management

Answer 2

-identify if time critical- hypovolemic shock
-consider specific diagnosis of other conditions
-assess vol of blood loss eg. clots, tampons, pads etc
-if not time critical conduct secondary assessment including abdo assessment
-consider age- increased risk of cervical/ uterus cancer older than 50
-majority patients convey to ED for assessment
