Pure PRINCE2 - Managing Product Delivery process Flashcards

1
Q

What is the MDP stage?

A

Summarised as agreeing the work, getting it done, and handing it back at expected quality and within boundaries (timelines, costs)

This process is to control the link between the PM and TM by placing formal requirements on project delivery and product acceptance:

PRINCE2 sets the MDP stage, but does not specify the PM concepts or methodology

Q

What are the five steps in Project Delivery (DP) process?

A

0 - PM confirms the work package as part of the stage plan in the previous stage. This is then approved by the PB in the MSB stage

1 - Accepting WP
a. PM hands the WP to the TM and they agree on deliverables, tolerances, and reporting requirements
b. The WP requirements reasonable and achievable

2 - Executing WP
a. After the TM accepts the WP, the TM manages production within tolerances set by the PM
b. The TM can set a Team Plan to plan the work (this may be done with the PM)
c. If the tolerances are forecasted to be, or are exceeded, the TM needs to escalate to the PM
d. The TM is responsible for developing the products to the expected quality, updating the Quality Register , and ensuring the team use the correct techniques, and processes,

2.5 Keep the PM updated
a. TM keeps PM updated via a checkpoint reported.

  1. Handing over the WP
    a. Once complete, the TM must review QR to ensure all QM checks are complete, review the approval logs to ensure all deliverables are complete and approved, then notify the PM that the WP is complete
