Cartilaginous joint that unites the two hip bones at the front.
Pubic Symphysis
Extends laterally from the pubic body to connect with the ilium.
Superior Pubic Ramus
Extends downward to connect with the ischium.
Inferior Pubic Ramus
The central part of the pubis that contributes to the anterior pelvis.
Pubic Body
A ridge along the superior pubic ramus that serves as a muscle attachment site.
Pectineal Line of the Pubis
Small bony projection on the pubic body; attachment site for ligaments.
Pubic Tubercle
V-shaped structure formed by the inferior pubic rami of both hip bones; wider in females.
Pubic Arch
A deep, cup-shaped cavity on the lateral hip bone that articulates with the femur (hip joint).
Acetabulum
Large opening between the ischium and pubis; mostly covered by connective tissue but allows passage for nerves and blood vessels.
