A

Abnormal, involuntary movements of the tongue, lips, jaws, and face

Twitching

Snakelike movement of the extremities and occasionally the trunk

Results from taking high doses of antipsychotic medications over a long period of time

Symptoms may persist indefinitely after discontinuation of medication

[antipsychotics should be closely monitored and prescribed at low doses]
