What is the purpose of Managing Product Delivery?

Team Managers coordinate this work, and can be internal or external to the customer’s organisation.
What is the purpose of Controlling a Stage?
ASSIGN work to be done
Monitor the work
Deal with ISSUES
REPORT progress to Project Board
Take corrective actions to ensure the management stage remains within TOLERANCE
What is the purpose of Initiating a Project?
To establish solid FOUNDATIONS for the project, enabling the organisation to understand the work required to deliver the products before committing to a significant SPEND
What is the purpose of Managing a Stage Boundary?
To enable the PM to provide the Project Board with sufficient information to REVIEW the success of the current management stage, APPROVE the next stage plan, review the updated project plan, confirm BUSINESS JUSTIFICATION and acceptability of the RISKS.
What is the purpose of Closing a Project?
To provide a fixed point at which ACCEPTANCE for the project product is confirmed
To recognise that OBJECTIVES set out in the PID (or approved changes to them) have been achieved, or that the project has nothing more to contribute
What is the purpose of Directing a Project?
To enable the Project Board to be ACCOUNTABLE for the project’s success by making key DECISIONS and exercising overall control while DELEGATING day-to-day management to the PM
What is the purpose of Starting Up a Project?
To ensure the pre-requisites for Initiating a Project are ihn place by answering the question: Do we have a VIABLE and WORTHWHILE project?
