it helps protect rural areas
what are the disadvantages of building on a brownfeild site
it can be a chemically polluted area
it is exspensive
it can be unnattractive
in which way is tudeley development plan sustainable
Economic: the sloar farm will generate electricity this will help create energy for a long time
Enviromental: they have a solar farm this is a renewable source which is better than some finite resources
ancient woodlands are being protected this pull tpurists in and tjis could cause them to soend money in tudeley
social: the cricket club prevent people travelling to other places to play cricket this reduces traffic and will reduce emission
buildings are being dessigned to mactch houses which are already in the area
why should tudeley development go ahead
Economic: jobs and schools will be provided in the village center
it could also provide 2800 new homes
Enviromental: electrical vehcile charging places helps to reduce normal car uses
its a pedestrian village with lost of green space this makes pole want to walkmore places
social: electrical vechile charging points and a cycle rout to tonbridge this creates travel routs easy for people who live in tonbridge
in conclusion why do you think tudley village development should be built
yes as it is a well designed plan with mutiple sustainable features and there will be plenty of jobs to be filled due to new buissness coming into tudeley
sugest one reason fro the reigonal variaitions in household growth
populaition growth has caused an increase in households therefor leading to an increase in houses needed
what are the projected housing patterens in the uk
the housing growth is high in central and southern england 10-15% and in the north it is 0-9.99%
why do brownfeild site housing provide social and econmoic benefits to urban areas
they are already interconected into urban areas with roads this reducesthe cost and prevent modes of transpot being needed to be put in place
how is tudeley a mixed use development
this is a an area of development which provides
describe the relife of the land of the proposed tudeley development
part of the land is flat in the north of the area however in the south west there is an increasing relide up to 50 feet
why is tudeley a suitable area for a mixed use development
Mixed Use. Tudeley Village would be a mixed-use community, which would offer amenity and employment opportunities, including offices, workshops, cafés and shops.
why shouldnt tudeley development go ahead
Economic: it can take away buissiness from local areas from tonbride and paddock wood
houses may not be affordable
Enviromental: built on a greenfeild site so habitats are destroyed
increased traffic will lead to more congestion
this could cause urban sprawl
Social: it willbecome a comuter sttlement this could increase traffic congestion
services will create more pollution
loss of individual charcteristics of villages
why is it difficult to make housing developments truely sustainable
Environmental Impact: Large-scale developments can significantly impact the local environment. In Tudeley, concerns include potential harm to local wildlife, loss of green space, and increased pollution. Balancing development with environmental preservation requires extensive planning and often compromises.
Infrastructure Strain: Sustainable developments need robust infrastructure for transportation, water, energy, and waste management. In Tudeley, there are concerns about whether existing infrastructure can support the new development without causing traffic congestion, water shortages, or increased carbon emissions.
Economic Feasibility: Achieving sustainability often involves higher upfront costs for green building materials, renewable energy systems, and advanced waste management solutions. Developers may find it challenging to balance these costs with affordability for potential homeowners, impacting the economic viability of the project.
what was the final conclusion with the tudeley development
it was cancled by the government

around 4000 hectraes of countryside is built on each year
what is the major of west midlands veiws on using brownfwild sites
they say they are good places to build on as the prevent green areas being destroyed and can provide attractive palces to live and to wokr
why do we need to use aliitle bit of rural urban fringe
there are not enough brownfeild sites to fix our housing crisi
