- spotting tile with iodine and amylase
- fill a spotting tile with iodine
- heat to 20* then add amylase
- every minute add a sample of the solution to the spotting tile
- (orange to blue black when starch present) find time taken for no colour change to occur
- repeat with 30,40,50
