Action: Extend hip, abduct hip

- A. glutea caudalis
M. gluteus superficialis
Origin: Sacrum, first caudal vertebrae, gluteal fascia
Insertion: Tuberostitas glutea
Action: Extend hip, draw limb backwards
Innervation: N. gluteus caudalis
Blood supply:
- A. circumflexa femoris lateralis
- A. glutea caudalis
M. semitendinosus
Origin: Tuber ischiadicum
Insertion: Crista tibialis, tuber calcanei (via fascia cruralis)
Action: Extend hip, flex stifle, extend hock
Innervation: N. gluteus caudalis, n. cutaneus femoris caudalis
Blood supply: A. glutea caudalis, a. caudalis femoris distalis
M. abductor cruris caudalis (Ca)
Origin: Sacrotuberous ligament pars distalis
Insertion: Crural fascia
Action: Abduct Hindlimb
Innervation: N. tibialis
Blood supply:
- A. glutea caudalis
- A. caudalis femoris distalis
M. biceps femoris (Pars cran + caud)
Origin:
- Cran: Lig. sacrotuberale latum
- Caud: Tuber ischiadicum
Insertion: Via fascia lata et cruris: Patella, lig. patellae, corpus tibiae; tendo accessorus: CCT
Action: Extend hip, flex stifle, extend tarsus
Innervation:
- Cran: N. gluteus caudalis
- Caud: N. tibialis
Blood supply:
- A. glutea caudalis
- A. caudalis femoris distalis

Origin: Tuber ischiadicum (ventral)
Insertion: Labium mediale of femur, proximal tibia
Action: Extend hip and stifle
Innervation: N. gluteus caudalis
Blood supply: A. gluteus caudalis, aa. femoris media et distalis

Origin: Lateral border of ischium
Insertion: Fossa trochanterica
Action: Supinate hindlimb laterally
Innervation: N. ischiadicus

Origin: Foramen obturatum (inner surface)
Insertion: Fossa trochanterica
Action: Supinate hindlimb laterally
Innervation: N. obturatorius, n. ischiadicus

Origin: Foramen obturatum (outer surface)
Insertion: Fossa trochanterica
Action: Supinates hindlimb laterally
Innervation: N. obturatorius
Blood supply: A glutea caudalis
M. gluteus profundus
Origin: Spina ischiadica
Insertion: Trochanter major
Action: Extend Hip
Innervation: N. gluteus cranialis
Blood supply: A. glutea cranialis
N. ischiadicus/ Sciatic nerve
- Passes between m. gluteus medius et profundus
- Transect m. biceps femoris, nerve should be visible
- Branches from truncus lumbosacralis
N. gluteus caudalis
- Medial to m. gluteus medialis et profundus
