Structure of platyheminthes
A
- adapt to an inactive lifestyle by having an alongated, flattened body with specialised, sensitive head at the front
- the head has a concentration of nerve cells, which is known as cephalisation
- the animals are bilaterally symmetrical which enables flat works to move
- a flat worm has a top dorsal side and bottom ventral side
- Some flatworms live entirely parasitically while others are free living in water, move fast and take in food via mouth
