Rufugios or hostels. Here they can eat, get a bed and get their credential stamped
What is a credential?
Pilgrims passport. This is a document carried by most pilgrims and they get it stamped with the official Saint James stamp of each town or refugio at which they stayed. This serves as proof to the pilgrims office in Santiago that the journey was completed according to an official route

What happens at the pilgrims mass? (Camino)
Here the pilgrims who received the Compostela the day before have their names and starting points announced. The highlight of the mass is the singing of the ‘Hymn to Santiago’ with the spectacular swing of the famous thurible kept in the cathedral. After this the pilgrims receive communion
