Phase III - Block VII - System Integration Flashcards
What does the flight station consist of?
The flight station consists of two pilot seats, a flight engineer seat, and the navigator’s seat.
What are the flight station crew positions?
TAC, 2P, FE
What does TAC stand for and what do they do?
Transport Aircraft Commander (TAC) & shall be in command of the aircraft and is responsible for the safe and orderly conduct of flight.
What does 2P stand for and what do they do?
Second Pilot (2P) is the second in command of the aircraft and is responsible for assisting the pilot in the performance of their duties.
What does FE stand for and what do they do?
Flight Engineer (FE) is responsible for computing the takeoff, climb, cruise, and landing data, and monitors engine instruments.
What does the cargo compartment consist of?
The cargo compartment is the area from the 245 bulkhead aft.
What are the crew positions in the cargo compartment?
LM & 2LM
What does LM stand for and what do they do?
Loadmaster (LM) is responsible for the safe loading and unloading of passengers and cargo. Ensures the aircraft is balanced properly.
What does 2LM stand for and what do they do?
Second Loadmaster (2LM) takes care of passengers and assists with the loadmaster duties.
What is unique about the cargo compartment of the C130T?
The cargo compartment can be configured to carry pax, cargo or a combination of both.
What components help with cargo in the cargo comartment?
The dual rail system consists of roller sections, and left hand and right hand locking rails. It can hold six pallets.
Explain the systems operation within the flight station?
The aircraft is normally flown by the TAC or 2P from the left pilot seat. There is one set of throttles and condition levers to operate the engines. There is a yoke assembly at both pilot seats to operate flight controls. All pneumatic, electrical, and fuel systems are operated by the flight engineer.
