What are the 4 age categories for paediatric Vital Signs Major Trauma Criteria?
NB/Small Infant = 0-3mths
Large Infant = 4-12mths
Small Child = 1-4yrs
Medium Child = 5-11yrs
In the setting of potential major trauma, what vital signs meet MTC for a 0-3mth old?
HR <100 or >180 RR >60 BP <50 SPO2 <90 GCS <15 or less than Alert for AVPU
In the setting of potential major trauma, what vital signs meet MTC for a 4-12 mth old?
HR <100 or >180 RR >50 BP <60 SPO2 <90 GCS <15 or less than Alert for AVPU
In the setting of potential major trauma, what vital signs meet MTC for a 1-4 year old?
HR <90 or >160 RR >40 BP <70 SPO2 <90 GCS <15 or less than Alert for AVPU
In the setting of potential major trauma, what vital signs meet MTC for a 5-11 year old?
HR <80 or >140 RR >30 BP <80 SPO2 <90 GCS <15 or less than Alert for AVPU
Are there any variations on the Specific Injuries or MOI that implicate a paediatric as being Trauma Time Critical?
Burns >10% TBSA, as opposed to >20% for adults.
Any MOI will qualify a paediatric as TTC, as they are already an “at risk” demographic.
All other same as adult guidelines.
