What is the sepsis criteria?
A
In the presence of an infection or severe clinical insult 2 or more of: Temp >38 or <36 HR >90 RR >20 BP <90

If sepsis is suspected and transport times are prolonged, consider?
A
If Tx >1hr, consult for Ceftriaxone 1g IV.

When is fluid management indicated under the sepsis guideline?
A
Inadequate or extremely poor perfusion.

What is the fluid management under this guideline and what criteria does it need to meet?
A
In the setting of inadequate/extremely poor perfusion:
Sepsis is suspected + chest is clear + MICA not immediately available then:
- Confirm MICA request
- Normal Saline up to 20mL/kg IV over 30 minutes

What other therapeutic interventions are/may be indicated here?
A
- High flow O2 as per Critical Illness
- Ceftriaxone if transport >1hr (consult only)
- IV access
- Analgesia
- Antiemetics
