What is the genitourinary system?
Composed of structures involved as urination, reproduction and sexual activities
What is below the pelvic floor?
A region called the perineum
What can the pelvis region be divided into?
Into a greater (false) and lesser (true) pelvis based on the bony pelvis
What is the lesser pelvis known as?
The pelvic cavity
What is the genitourinary system referred to as?
Reproductive sexual organs
What does the female reproductive systems consists of?
The vagina, the uterus, the uterine (fallopian) tubes, the ovaries
Where do the organs of reproduction sit?
In the lesser pelvis
What does the internal organs of the male reproductive system consist of?
The testes, the epididymides, the ductus deferentes, the seminal vesicles, the ejaculatory ducts, the prostate, the bulbourethral glands
Where do the testes sit?
Outside the Body in the scrotum and the other components sit within the less pelvis
What does the urinary system consist of?
Paired kidneys and ureters, a muscular urinary bladder and urethra
What is the purpose of the urinary system?
Is the excretion of urea and other toxins along with maintenance of blood volume and osmolarity
