where does the word Chronicles come from?
from St. Jerome.
Jerome was commissioned is 382 by Pope Damasus1 to revise the “old Latin” bible to the Latin used at that time. it was later called the Vulgate.

The Septuagint (Greek) = 50% of 1 & 2 Chronicles is the same material found in 1 & 2 Samuel & 1 & 2 Kings.

most scholars place the writing of Chronicles within Ezra’s lifetime (450-400 B.C).
=this date would make Chronicles one of the last if not the last historical book of the old testament.

Chronicles does tend to reflect the perspective of a reforming priest (as Ezra was) with emphasis on the Temple and the Levitical Priesthood.
