EXODUS

1) God speaks powerfully to all Mankind!****
God starts to reveal Himself through His actions. His holiness is especially highlighted.
God reveals His name for the first time; Yahweh – The God of Redemption (6:3).
God profoundly reveals Himself in 3 - 4:17 (the burning bush); 6:1-12:and in 33-34.
God states that He is intentionally using Pharaoh to show His attributes to the whole world (2 Samuel 7:22-24).
God’s covenant with Abraham now comes under a new, and temporary, administration: The Law.
EXODUS:
WHAT IS THE THEOLOGY OF SALVATION?
EXODUS
Theology:
2) The Theology of Salvation.
God “redeems” His people (6:6, 15:13).
Redemption is seen in chapter 12 (the Passover) and in chapter 24 (sealing the covenant).
Paul saw the death of the Passover Lamb as fulfilled in the death of Christ (1 Corinthians 5:7). John the Baptist did not refer to Jesus as “The Lion of Judah” but as “The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world” (John 1:29).
God redeems from bondage and sanctifies through His covenant.
