Laxity compared to the contralateral (uninsured)elbow indicates a partial or compete tear of medical or lateral collateral ligament.
Ligamentous instability tests
Tingling or paresthesia into the thumb , index, and middle finger during this test indicates ulnar neuropathy or carpal tunnel syndrome(median nerve)
Tinel’s sign(at wrist)
A positive sign(Burning tingling or numb sensation over the thumb ,index, middle and ring fingers)produces paresthesia in the distribution of the median nerve indicates carpal tunnel syndrome
Phalen’s sign
Pain during this test indicates de Quervain’s Dx/Syndrome(tenosynovitis of the thumb)
Finkelstein’s sign
An increase in the time to achieve a flushing effect indicates arterial stenosis of the radial and or ulnar arteries.
