What is the purpose of an achievement test?
Assessments that measure a student’s acquired knowledge of skills in educational areas. Helps to identify discrepancy of IQ to achievement results to see if there is some outside factor like anxiety that is impairing IQ.
Woodcock-Johnson III NU Test
Tests achievement, lasts an hour and is given to anyone 2-90+ yo.
What does adaptive function test for?
Assesses for how well one succeeds in their environment. Walking, talking, getting dressed, hygiene, going to school/work, prepping a meal.
Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale
Measure of self-sufficiency. For birth to 90 yo. Good for ID, autism, ADHD , and neurocognitive disorders. (adaptive function = ability to succeed in environment)
Stroop Color and Word Test
Executive Function. Ability to suppress interference from competing stimuli. Subjected timed on how many words and colors they name.
Benton Facial Recognition Test
Tests for Prosopagnosia (inability to recognize faces )
Wisconsin Card Sorting Test
Executive Function . 4 stimulus cards differ on variable of color, shape, and number. No instructions given to person taking the test. They are told ‘right/wrong’ and they learn the rule. Then the rule gets changed. Those with cognitive impairment will never learn the rule.
What do ‘continuous performance tests’ evaluate?
Assesses ability to sustain attention over etended periods and often with distraction.

Continuous performacne task + motion tracking analysis . (quarterbacks must continually perform and track motion throughout the whole game) .

Tests for verbal memory. Subject reads aloud a shopping list of 16 items that are categorized. Subject assessed on recall and recognition of category.

Assess visual-motor skills. For those with special needs.Copy geometric figures arranges in ascending order of difficulty. 2-18 yo . You test results prior to and after MOTOR INTEGRATION THERAPY.
Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure
Assesses visual-spatial, visual memory, planning. You copy a complex figure and then draw it from memory. Useful in brain damage and neurocognitive disorders.

Test of executive function .
Rorschach Inkblot Test
Assesses for personality and emotional characteristics. Can also differentiate psychotic from nonpsychotic thinking.
Thematic Apperception Test
Projective test which is a type of personality test. Subject projects their own needs, fears ,desires, preoccupations onto image. What led up to this event?
Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory
Assesses personality test to ID personality structure and psychopathology. Used to assess malingering and factitiuous disordes through scores on validity scales. 567 y/no items.
