Dissociative will happen in all age groups, transient global is usually in the elderly. Orientation to self is usually retained in transiet global amnesia.
Localized amnesia
A traumatic period of time or event. Often the hours or days surrounding the trauma. May last years after intense trauma.
Selective Amnesia
A specific aspect of a traumatic memory
Generalized Amnesia
Complete loss of memories of one’s identity and entire life history.
Continuous Amnesia
Amnesia not limited to traumatic time or event but rather continues so that individual does not remember any new events following the trauma (anterograde amnesia).
