Q

what are the 4 bone classes
and how do you identify them

A

Long bones, long diaphyis which leads to a wider epephyis, compact bone mostly
Short bones, simlar length and width, mostly cancellous bone, weightbearing multiple directions
Flat bones, thin plates, a thin layer of compact bone mostly shock absorbing cancellous bone inside. good to attach muscels to and good protection
irregular bones, everything else often has holes for body parts

16
Q

sexual diamorphisum + example

A

a diffrence in men and womens physiology
in woman the pelvus is wider and more round with a shallowerer angle in the pubic arch

17
Q

why is the fibia/tibia/femur more secuar than the radii/ulner/humorus

A

the legs and thigh have to support the weight of the trunk. deep femur attachment to the pelvic gerdle limit movement and improves strength.
the arms are more mobile to help with movement.

18
Q

bones of the hands

A

carpals (8)
metacarpals (5)
phlanges (14)

19
Q

bones of the feet

A

tarsals (7)
metatarsals (5)
phlanges(14)
