External Oblique

Origin, Insertion, Innervation, Blood Supply

A

Origin: External surface of the 5th-12th ribs

Insertion: Anterior part of the iliac crest and abdominal aponeurosis to linea alba

Innervation: Thoraco-abdominal nerves (T7-T11) and subcostal nerves (T12)

Blood Supply: Intercostal artery and superior and inferior epigastric arteries

Origin: Pubic crest and pubic symphysis

Insertion: Cartilage of 5th, 6th and 7th ribs and xiphoid process

Blood Supply: Superior and inferior epigastric arteries
