When is Level I staging automatically in effect?
all incidents with 3 or more companies responding
What should the first arriving engine company do?
respond directly to the scene and initiate appropriate operations
What should the first arriving ladder company do?
respond directly to the scene and announce their approach to the scene
What should the first Chief Officer do?
go directly to the scene and assume Command, all other chiefs should report to Command
What should ambos do?
stage in the direction of travel, uncommitted, approximately one block from the scene until assigned by Command
what should all other units do?
stage in their direction of travel, uncommitted, approximately one block rom the scene until assigned by Command
What should utility truck do?
assume Level I Staging
If Level II staging has been implemented, utility trucks will go to Level II Staging
When is Level II Staging implemented?
for all greater alarm incidents
- should also be considered for first alarm medical or hazardous material incidents
Who will automatically become the Staging Officer in the Staging Area?
the first fire department officer to arrive in the Staging Area
Who is allowed to transfer responsibility for Staging and why?
Ladder officer can transfer to first arriving engine officer due to the limited number of ladder companies
