A
  • Rinse area with soap/water asap after contamination
  • Squirt liquid detergent or pre-cleaner directly onto stain (3-4 squirts)
  • Use soft bristle brush and gently scrub for 1 1/2 minutes
  • Reapply liquid detergent or pre-cleaner
  • Wash as normally would according to G.O.

How do you clean hydrocarbon contaminants from your turnout gear? (7)

A
  • Separate liner and shell
  • While onscene wash as much off with water and apply microblaze and let sit for 1 hour
  • If turnouts placed in bag, remove asap when returning to station and reapply microblaze
  • Wash shells/liners separate in oxygenated cleanser twice
  • Wash once in turnout cleanser
  • May take several washings
  • Air dry in the shade
