What is the process of Loss Control?
to reduce, and in many cases eliminate, certain losses experienced during and following fires and other types of incidents.
Throughout each of the three (3) tactical priorities, what is continuously addressed? (3)
1- safety and survival of firefighters
2- customer service
3- loss control functions
What is an important element of loss control?
to extinguish the fire
Why is it important to fight fire from the unburned portion?
Because it will effect loss control.
Fire attacks from the burning portion will usually push heat and smoke through the building and increase loss
What does the use of class A foam do in regards to loss control?
method used to reduce water damage
What can be used help clear the smoke during active fire stages?
PPV - Positive Pressure Ventilation
When checking for extension by pulling ceiling, what is the “do” and “don’t”?
Do- cut small inspection holes, preferably 6”x6”
Don’t- pull drywall from corners
