s/sx of mpox
fever/chills
sore throat
cough
nasal congestion
myalgia
headache
lymphadenopathy
RASH
Anergia
exhaustion or tiredness
when do rash appears in mpox
1-4 days later after flu like symptoms
rashes initially appears what?
itchy pimple or blister then becomes scab
rare s/sx of mpox
rectal pain and swelling
dysuria
skin lesions on palms and soles, face, mouth, throat, groin, genital areas and anus
diagnostic test of mpox
RT-PCR test (nasal swabbing)
Pharmacological management of mpox
Antiviral drugs - during the symptomatic stage
-tecovirimat
-cidofovir
-brincidofovir
