What are training methods?
Also referred to as training modalities, training methods are different ways that training content can be delivered.
What is Classroom training?
The key component to classroom training is structure.
The room, schedule, and activities are all highly structured
The instructor is usually a subject matter expert or a member of the training staff

What is Vestibule training?
Involves giving the participants hands-on training in a mock work environment.
allows learners to practice new skills and knowledge without the potential for negative business impact.
good for teaching
specialized skills or when a large number of learners need to be trained in a short time, making OJT impractical.
What is computer based training?
referred to as eLearning, refers to any training that is delivered primarily via computer as opposed to in person
Include webinars, PowerPoint presentations, and virtual classrooms
Allows for Asynchronous Learning asynchronous learning, where learners and instructors are not necessarily in the virtual classroom at the same time.
What is Asynchronous learning?
computer-based training method using virtual classroom that does not require instructor and learners to be online simultaneously
A telephone receptionist needs to practice on a switchboard in a simulated setting before taking over the actual business phones.
Vestibule
A call center needs to onboard a group of 20 new customer service representatives in a two-week time period using a pre-existing curriculum.
Classroom
A large organization is making changes to their employee benefits package. Human Resources created a PowerPoint presentation explaining the changes. What is the best training method to ensure all employees have the opportunity to receive the training?

also called transfer of training, occurs when employees apply what they learned in the training to their job with measurable results.

- Ensure adequate resources exist to support transfer of learning
- Ensure the work environment reinforces the training
- Ensure follow-up occurs
