MNP - mononeuropathy Flashcards
What are the pathologic features predictive of high grade PNST?
High mitotic index
Necrosis within the neoplasm
Transperineurial growth
What are the MRI features predictive of high grade PNST?
Large volume
Severe peripheral contrast enhancement*
Degree of muscle atrophy, heterogeneous signal and tumor growth into the vertebral canal were not associated with grade.
factors assoc with outcome in traumatic/iatrogenic sciatic injury in dog/cat
dog: ability to flex/extend tarsus
amplit CMAP >1.45mV (sensib 60%, specif 100%)
cat: spont activity in semitend/quadriceps
inhability to record CDP
3 types of nerve lesion
neurotmesis: transect axon + perineural connective tissue
axotmesis: damage axon, preserved perineural connect tissue
neurapraxia: no lesion or focal demyelin
breed + local for bilat hypertrophic ganglioneuritis
Staff Bull Terrier
C2
Electrodiag factor for traumatic brachial plexus injury
radial CMAP amplitude (5mV specif 93%)
absence of cut trunci assoc with lower CMAP amp of radial and ulnar and thus with more impt axonal lesion for these nerve
