-Says consonant clusters but not always correct
3- 4 years

-Can recognize front of book and locate title
-Uses the word “and” to connect ideas
-Recognizing 10+ letters, can write own name
-Recognizes some rhymes and combination words (cupcake)
-Most consonants are correct
-Imitating writing
-Understandable to most people
4-5 years

what is babbling?
vowel and consonant repetitions (ie babababa)
what is cooing?
elongated vowels
reflex where infant is startled by loud stimulus, throw arms and legs outward, then retract; safety mechanism
