Mechanism of Action

A
  • Binds to benzodiazepine receptors and enhances the effects of GABA
  • Acts at the level of the limbic, thalamic, & hypothalamic regions of the CNS to produce short-acting CNS depression (including sedation, skelatal muscle relaxation, & anticonvulsant activity)
